- 3pīṭha nilayē - According to Sri Lalita Sahasranamam, the Mother has 50 seats ‘pañcāśatpīṭha rūpiṇi’ (833). There is a Dikshitar Kriti also on the subject – ‘panchaśatpīṭha rūpiṇi’ – Raga Devagandhara.

Commentary
- Dharmasamvardhani is the Goddess at Tiruvaiyaru.
- 1dhātri dhara nāyaka priya putri – This can be taken as a single epithet or two epithets by taking ‘dhātri’ as a separate one. From the construction of the Charana, where most of the epithets end with ‘tri’ – putri, gātri, nētri, pavitri; ‘dhātri’ also seems to be a separate epithet. Accordingly, ‘dhara’ has been translated as ‘mountain’.
- 4 valayē – Tamizh Valaiyal
- 5vīra śakti – It is not clear whether Sri Thyagaraja uses this epithet in its general sense or whether he specifically refers to Kaula Marga of Sakti worship. There are many Thantras which describe these. Please visit website for complete information on the subject – [Thantras]
- 6śakti - indrāṇi, vaiṣṇavi, śāntā, brahmāṇi, kaumāri, nārasimhi, vārāhi, māhēśvari - Eight Saktis.
