Telugu lyrics

Meaning of Okkade mokshakarta (in English)
This is a summary of the idea of the song, not a word-for-word translation. Annamayya points out that among many gods, many worlds and many vratas, there is only one giver of liberation and only one refuge, the Lord Hari.
- Pallavi: Only one Lord grants moksha, and only one is the true refuge. The devotees of old lived well by worshipping Hari as their only support.
- First charanam: There are many gods, many worlds and many vratas in practice. But what does a wise person gain by performing rites done for worldly rewards? Even the Vedic rites that one takes up are only of ordinary worth.
- Second charanam: One person drinks water to quench thirst, another fills a pot, and another swims for pleasure, but the pond is the same one. In the same way, a wise person takes the essence of the Vedas and holds on to it. He does not carry the whole load on his head.
- Third charanam: This is the meaning of the Bhagavad Gita, which Krishna taught Arjuna face to face. Annamayya calls the devotees of Sri Venkateswara to look for it, listen to it, and take up this path of life.
Annamayya often spoke to people directly in this way, gently showing that surrender to the Lord is the one sure path. The song should be read as a spiritual reminder, not as a criticism of any person or belief.
