About Saint Annamacharya
Saint Annamacharya (1408–1503), also known as Annamayya, was a great Telugu poet-saint and devoted composer in praise of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala. He is said to have composed over 32,000 sankirtanas and is remembered as Pada Kavita Pitamaha, the grandfather of Telugu song poetry. His compositions were inscribed on copper plates and rediscovered centuries later.
