Telugu lyrics

Meaning of Induku virahitamulinniyu (in English)
This is a summary of the idea of the song, not a word-for-word translation. Annamayya lists, one by one, the qualities that show true knowledge, in the way the Gita describes them.
- Pallavi: The Gita declares that these qualities are what true knowledge is, and whatever lacks them falls short of it.
- First charanam: Giving up pride over honour and dishonour and leaving show behind; staying away from violence and being patient; a mind that melts in service to the teacher; and always keeping oneself pure. This is unfailing knowledge.
- Second charanam: A steady mind and self-control; freedom from ego and from clinging to sense objects; reflecting on the sorrows that birth brings; and crossing over worldly life. This is knowledge.
- Third charanam: The same attitude towards enemy and friend; devotion to the Lord alone; choosing solitude and freedom from attachment; understanding the truth of knowledge of the self; and attaining greatness. This, says Annamayya, is the knowledge of Sri Venkatapati.
The song is a gentle checklist for the seeker. It should be read as spiritual guidance, not as a judgement of any person.
